The APC Fellows Program
APC’s Fellows Program recognizes distinguished service of member compounding pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to their profession and their communities.
Established in 1997, the Fellows Program distinguishes pharmacists – and, in 2022, pharmacy technicians – who are exemplary in their professionalism and commitment to the practice of pharmacy compounding. Each applicant’s credentials are assessed against rigorous criteria that include contributions to published literature, continuing education, presentations, leadership, professional and civic service as well as professional awards. The criteria are designed to maintain a balance between subject areas and to ensure that the APC Fellows are diverse in their practices and community activities.
APC Fellows meet stringent requirements designed to demonstrate their commitment to patient care through quality pharmacy compounding and the highest ethical and professional standards.
Since the APC Fellows Program’s inception, 169 pharmacists and technicians have been honored as members of this elite group.
Fellowship is the highest distinction awarded by APC, the only professional association solely dedicated to pharmacy compounding.
Eligibility
Fellows are inducted once a year during Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH). APC members may be considered for Fellow recognition if they:
- Subscribe and adhere to the Alliance’s Code of Ethics.
- Currently practice or actively support the art and skill of pharmacy compounding.
- Are registered pharmacists or registered and/or certified pharmacy technicians who have practiced pharmacy for at least five consecutive years, practiced in the compounding pharmacy profession for at least three consecutive years, and must be current and active.
- Are a current member of APC and have been a member of APC for at least three consecutive years.
Requirements
In order to be considered for Fellows, candidates must:
- Be nominated by at least two current Fellows and submit their letters of recommendation. At least one letter must come from an external source and not the applicant’s place of employment.
- Earn a set number of points in various categories of service and professional involvement such as a minimum of 30 hours of compounding-related continuing education, presentations and published articles, professional awards, and professional and civic service.
- Submit a completed Fellowship application with supportive materials by the deadline. Late applications are not accepted.
- Submit a current CV and headshot (.jpg, .jpeg, .eps).
- Submit a paragraph on how you apply APC’s Code of Ethics in your practice/profession.
- Submit a paragraph on how you would use your Fellow designation to promote APC moving forward.
- Submit to an interview by the APC Fellows Committee.
- Receive approval from the Fellows Committee which then makes a recommendation for approval to the APC Board of Directors.

- Final slate of Fellows approved by the APC Board of Directors
- Induction at Compounders on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Induction is mandatory prior to use of the FAPC designation. If you are unable to attend Compounders on Capitol Hill that year your induction will be pushed to the following year.

Renewals
Once a Fellow is inducted, they remain a Fellow so long as they are an APC member and adhere to the Alliance’s Code of Ethics, or until such time as they wish to no longer be recognized as a Fellow.
Fellows are encouraged to continue their professional involvement with APC and pharmacy compounding in general and may be called upon to help the board or staff with projects or vital information.
