You win some … (NPR)

NPR’s Sydney Lupkin continues to achieve balance and accuracy in her reporting on compounding, and we’re grateful for it. Her article this weekfocused on what will happen to compounded GLP-1s when Novo and Lilly finally get things under control and the shortage ends, and APC’s Scott Brunner is quoted. She also wrote an article back in June that provided solid advice to patients considering compounded GLP-1s. We briefed her for both.

The Washington Post’s Daniel Gilbert and Teddy Amenabar gave compounding a fair shake in their article on compounded GLP-1s last week, and a KFF Health News article by Arthur Allen also did a pretty good job being balanced about the issue (with the exception of the illustration). Both Gilbert and Allen have toured compounding pharmacies; APC also briefed them several times for their respective stories.

We’re out there, working with the press to fight misinformation about compounding, especially with GLP-1s. And with several reporters at least, our message is starting to get through.
