Requirements
APC board members must be:
- A current voting APC member in good standing
- an appointed member of an APC standing committee for at least one year in the previous three years prior to the board election in which they run, or be a former member of the APC Board of Directors in the past three years prior to the board election in which they run
- Willing to prepare, participate productively, and attend regularly scheduled board meetings including three face-to-face meetings in person or via teleconference
- Able to meet the time requirements
- Teleconference meetings generally run about two hours; face-to-face meetings about three to four hours
- Time to read and review the provided meeting materials prior to the meeting
- Willing to serve on at least one APC committee, which meets an additional one to two hours per month per committee
- Willing to share their knowledge, values, skills, and expertise to the board’s efforts to fulfill its responsibilities
Note: Board members may not serve concurrently on boards of directors of another professional society, association, foundation, or other not-for-profit with overlapping membership or working in the same interest areas as APC. The only boards that are exempted from this restriction are boards of directors of state pharmacy associations. Such roles must be disclosed on the APC Board of Directors nomination form.
The Process
The Nominating Committee will receive nominations and recommend a slate of candidates to run for office. The APC Board of Directors will approve the slate of candidates, which is then presented to the APC membership for voting.
2027 Board of Directors seats available
For 2027, five board seats will stand for election. Please see detailed information below, including candidate eligibility and term length for each board position. Click here for the 2026 Board of Directors list with districts and terms.
Current voting APC members are eligible to run only in the primary district they live in. Candidates must have a current individual pharmacist, technician or supporter membership or work for a current pharmacy/facility member and be a pharmacist, technician or supporter.
Candidates may self-nominate.
DISTRICT III:
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia

DISTRICT IV:
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee
One seat available for a three-year term expiring December 31, 2029
DISTRICT V:
Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas
One seat available for a three-year term expiring December 31, 2029
DISTRICT VI:
Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming
One seat available for a three-year term expiring December 31, 2029
DISTRICT VII:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington

Nominations are accepted from July 29 through August 17, 2026.
Balloting will commence on September 30, 2026.
