You can learn from their mistakes

Let’s face it, there’s something weirdly satisfying hearing about someone else’s mistakes. (I mean, the Germans coined schadenfreude to describe it.) But it’s even better when you can learn from those mistakes.

And thus we’re proud to present a new webinar:Don’t Be the Case Study: Safety Lessons You’ll Actually Rememberthat includes “Real-World Compounding Errors, Quality Insights, and How to Stay Out of the Headlines.”

It’s presented by John Kessler, the chief medication safety officer for the Alliance for Patient Medication Safety — so he’s someone who obviously knows this stuff inside and out … and has the stories to share. And yes, he’ll be using real error reports from real compounding pharmacies from the past year (anonymized, of course). So no fabricated stories — just real, recent examples.

It’s Oct. 23, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, EDT. It’s a live webinar, but there’s also the option to take it on demand. Cost is $55 for APC pharmacist members ($25 for techs and students), or $75 for non-members, and you get an hour of CE credit.

Oh, and don’t forget this: All APC Pharmacy/Facility Members get automatic free membership in APMS, the patient safety organization. You have to sign up, of course.
