We’ve been busy this week on the state regulatory front, submitting comments on bills in Illinois...
State update: Illinois
Starting January 1, 2026, any out-of-state pharmacy licensed in Illinois will need to have a pharmacist-in-charge who is also licensed in Illinois. Difficulty: The state hasn’t yet updated the pharmacy license application to request a PIC’s Illinois license number, nor has it clarified whether pharmacies need to submit that info before their next renewal in March 2026. Still, the board strongly recommends that current PICs go ahead and apply for an Illinois license now, since the process might take a while.
