In case you haven’t heard…. The next episode of APC’s Essential podcast — “Lies & Lawsuits” — has dropped. Besides compounding news, this month we have attorney Mark Boesen talking about the latest lawsuits against compounding pharmacies and wellness centers, and what it all means in the grand scheme. You can listen on YouTube, or subscribe to the entire Pharmacy Podcast Network on your favorite podcast app (like PodBean, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts) for Essential and more!

This sounds familiar. For more than three years, compounding pharmacies have provided safe, affordable GLP-1 drugs for Americans, Scott Brunner wrote on LinkedIn. And now it looks like Lilly and Novo have made a deal with the White House to offer their weight-loss drugs for just $149 per month in exchange for having them covered by Medicaid and Medicare. There’s a direct line from one to the other, Scott points out. “You’re welcome.”

Potential API confusion in Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Board of Pharmacy proposed updating their compounding regulations to adopt the newer USP Chapters <795> and <797>.That’s good, but when we looked at the details, there appear to be issues in the API selection criteria. APC will be submitting comments to the board once we fully evaluate those proposed changes.
