Scott and Joe speak at PCCA
APC CEO Scott Brunner was part of an “Industry Partner CEO Panel” at PCCA’s ThinkNext event in Houston, joined by PCCA CEO Gus Bassani and NCPA CEO Doug Hoey.
Scott talked about how the ups and downs of the GLP-1 market are shining a light on compounding like never before, and — despite the protestations of drugmakers — that light has been mostly positive.
Setting aside all the good compounding pharmacies and facilities did during the pandemic, over just the past four years they’ve once again stepped up, this time to provide millions of Americans access to wonder drugs. And they did more than simply fill in when drug makers couldn’t (or wouldn’t) deliver: They dispensed the medication at a much-more-affordable price point — and with a track record of safety on par with that of FDA-approved drugs.
Thank you to PCCA for graciously inviting us — it was an honor to be part of the event.

Meanwhile, past APC board chair Joseph Navarra also spoke at a session about “Innovation, Problem Solving, Patient Care” as part of a Member Pearls Panel called “This Works for Me.” Joining him were Shelbi Witt, owner of Montana Apothecary & Compounding in Great Falls, MT; and Bryan Ziegler, owner of Moss Compounding Pharmacy in Lexington, SC.
For his part, Joe talked about the value of organizations like APC that not only represent the profession, but help make their members … well, better. As Joe put it, “APC makes me smarter,” but, he explained, it also helps the bottom line: “I save more money through benefits than I pay for my PFM membership.”
