Keep up the fight: California’s AB1990 gets stripped

After pressure from stakeholders, including APC, as well as the state’s board of pharmacy, California’s anti-compounding AB1990 bill has been amended by the author; the new version removes most of the troublesome provisions.

Most isn’t all, though, and this version still has provisions that are, as far as we’re concerned, non-starters. We have expressed our concerns and opposition to the amended bill, and we’ve provided comments to the senate’s Business, Professions and Economic Development committee where the bill will be heard this coming Monday, June 29.

California pharmacists: Don’t let off the pressure. If you haven’t used our super-easy system for emailing your state senators, don’t wait.

This bill might be California specific, but we all know that the state often sets the standard for much of the country. We need to put the pressure on and keep it up; better to stop this bill now than to have to counsel patients who end up cut off from their medication.

Here’s more info about the bill and why it’s so dangerous for patients and compounders: https://fllw.me/ab1990. Share that link with your patients, prescribers, and all your contacts, and tell them to reach out to stop the bill before they lose access to their compounded medications!
