Sterile compounders: Check your ingredients

FDA issued a reminder this week to only produce sterile drugs with suitable components. The agency was made aware of some compounders using food-grade nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) sold by repackagers to make intravenous products. Food-grade ingredients are not suitable for compounding sterile products without appropriate processing.
