Colorado: Dead for now

Woohoo! SB 26-066 has been postponed indefinitely – which is legislative-speak for “dead.”. After months of delays, votes that never materialized, and a hearing that kept getting pushed, the bill died for lack of support in the House. This is a meaningful win for Colorado compounding pharmacies and the patients they serve, and it reflects APC’s and OFA’s sustained advocacy effort that kept pressure on the legislature throughout the process. We'll be watching to see whether it resurfaces next session, but for now, take a breath. This one's done.

Peter Koshland of Koshland Pharma, Sara Whitt of Strive, and APC’s Tenille Davis met with members of the California State Assembly this week in Sacramento.

California: Another hearing ahead

AB 1990 is headed to the Assembly Appropriations Committee, with a hearing now confirmed for this Wednesday, May 13. In the interim, APC's Tenille Davis was in California this week, meeting with members of the California State Assembly to make the case against the bill – the kind of direct, relationship-driven advocacy that makes a difference when votes are counted.

If you're in California or serve patients and prescribers there, the May 13 hearing is the next critical moment. Send a message to your Assembly member urging them to oppose AB 1990 before the hearing.
