AB 1990 cleared the Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection on April 21 with a referral to the Assembly Appropriations Committee – keeping the bill alive and moving. APC anticipates the Appropriations Committee hearing will take place on either May 6 or 13.
APC's Tenille Davis also appeared before the California Board of Pharmacy's legislation and regulation committee this week, asking the board to take an official opposed position on AB 1990 – and a support position on AB 2141, the bill that would create a more streamlined enforcement process for the Board of Pharmacy.
As Philip wrote this week, the wins that protect patient access don't happen on their own – they depend on the right voices reaching the right lawmakers at the right time. If you're in California or serve patients and prescribers there, this is one of those moments. Send a message to your Assembly member urging them to oppose AB 1990. Your voice matters, and so does your patients'.

If you’ve lost count of how many times SB 26-066 has been delayed, you’re not alone. The bill now has a Health and Human Services committee hearing scheduled for May 5 – the latest in a long line of postponements. We’ll have an update after the hearing (should it happen).
