Should you source from 503Bs?

If you’re coming to the Owner Summit — just two weeks from now! — we’ve got a panel discussion on a topic that’s  gotten hot recently: “B2A Sourcing: When Does it Make Sense?” Put another way, the panel will talk about when and why it makes sense for traditional pharmacies to source compounded products from 503B outsourcing facilities. (It’s something that’s come up in some state legislatures, most recently Louisiana’s.)

There are definitely times and scenarios where it makes sense for a pharmacy to partner with a 503B facility to both improve efficiency and keep in compliance, especially with high-volume or complex sterile compounding needs — for example, during significant drug shortages.

Come to the session and learn the best ways to assess your needs, the benefits of partnering, how to weigh the pros and cons, and of course how to stay compliant. Our panelists: Melissa Stefko of Wells Pharmacy Network, Kathleen Kane of the University of Chicago Medical Center, Christian Stella of Precision Pharmacy; Jenn Burch of Central Compounding Center moderates.
