Now FDA is going after DTE

Written by Andrew | Aug 15, 2025

You can gripe, or you can book a flight and come do something about it.

FDA announced last week it’s banning desiccated thyroid extract for compounding by categorizing it as a biologic. Maybe you heard. Maybe you even sent APC an email urging us to, you know, do something about it.

And so we are. It’s called Compounders on Capitol Hill. September 16–17. Washington, DC. That’s where compounders across America are coming to tell Congress about yet another absurd, unscientific, biased act by FDA that — surprise — looks to benefit a drugmaker more than it does patients. Your members of Congress need to be yanking some chains at FDA, but they won’t if you don’t come tell them what’s what.

We’ll prep you with the facts about DTE and what FDA gets wrong. We’ll also prep you to share APC’s Blueprint for removing ineffective regulation with elected officials, and to explain our omnibus compounding legislation to them — and ask them to co-sponsor it.

Look, it’s put-up or shut-up time. You can gripe, or you can do something. Come help us change things. Because it won’t happen without you.

But get registered soon — the preferred hotel rate at the Ritz Carlton is only good through August 25.
