More myth-busting: Read this DC Journal piece

You should check this out: Our CEO’s op-ed, “Compounded GLP-1s, a Healthcare Lifeline, Not a Scandal was published in the November 5 edition of Inside Sources’ DC Journal. It’s a big piece, and one where he hits back against just about the entire tiresome litany of drugmaker accusations against pharmacy compounding. It’s essentially a debunking of one myth after another — and by “myth” we mean all the nonsense certain drugmakers have been spewing about compounding these past few years.

Scott hits it all, from overblown safety issues, to the suggestion that compounding pharmacists use sub-standard ingredients, to the idea that compounding is some kind of legal loophole, to complaints about personalization. And more.

Consider it required reading for anyone who’s been on the receiving end of what we charitably call “misrepresentations.”

And the op-ed isn’t just reflective of APC’s oft-repeated position. He also reminds readers that those same misrepresentations have, again and again, failed to sway the courts: “[C]ourts aren’t buying the idea that compounding pharmacies are the problem,” he wrote. “They see what’s really happening — pharmacists and prescribers filling a gap in patient access within the clear bounds of law.” Amen, brother!
