Let’s simplify accreditation, shall we?
Accreditation doesn’t feel like a single finish line, does it? You’re running a bunch of races at the same time — different programs, different surveys, different renewal cycles. Worse, there’s a ton of overlap with the core issues: quality, safety, documentation, and compliance.
So you’re maintaining multiple accreditations, spending time and resources while trying to focus on patient care and operational excellence. It’s more burden, less benefit. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a single accreditation designed around how compounding pharmacies actually operate?
Introducing the Coalition for Compounding Excellence (CCE) — a new accreditation program available exclusively to members of the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding.
CCE offers one comprehensive accreditation grounded in USP compliance, centering on (verified!) adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800>, as well as appropriate facilities and equipment, qualified personnel, validated processes, and solid documentation. By aligning closely with current regulatory expectations, CCE helps pharmacies demonstrate compliance in a way that boards of pharmacy understand and value.
So rather than juggling overlapping accreditations, pharmacists can focus their efforts on a single program built around standards they already follow.
One major benefit: efficiency. CCE supports multi-state licensure, helping pharmacies identify and address compliance gaps early, reducing the risk of citations and helping smooth license renewals across jurisdictions.
CCE also takes a practical, pharmacist-led approach to surveys. Evaluations are conducted by experienced compounding pharmacists who understand the realities of daily operations. Their focus is not only on identifying issues, but on helping pharmacies resolve them, strengthening compliance and operational consistency.
CCE accreditation is available only to APC members, with Pharmacy and Facility Members getting preferred pricing — typically saving 33 to 50% compared with other accreditation programs.
With the introduction of CCE, APC is offering compounding pharmacies a clearer, more credible, and more practical path to accreditation. Learn more about CCE accreditation by filling out a 30-second form; we’ll contact you with the details.
