How the media views compounding (and you)

Sure, there are plenty of times reporters Just Don’t Get It when it comes to writing about compounding. The tide is shifting, though, and the better journalists are spending time getting the bigger picture so they can report thoroughly and accurately.

It’s not just good luck — APC has spent a lot of time (a lot of time) and resources (a lot of resources) reaching out to reporters, briefing them, and yes, correcting them so they know what law and policy actually say about compounding, as opposed to the drugmaker misrepresentations. We’ve even worked with local compounding pharmacies to arrange for background tours.

So what’s the perspective of those journalists who see that bigger, clearer picture? What are they seeing that we might be missing by being too close to the subject? Find out. We’ve invited three of them for a special panel on Tuesday, September 16 at Compounders on Capitol Hill: Arthur Allen from Kaiser Health News, Daniel Gilbert from the Washington Post, and Sydney Lupkin from NPR.

The goal: to hear how they (and the public) see the compounding landscape, particularly when it comes to GLP-1s. They’ll give you an important insight into what your patients are seeing and thinking. (Guess what? It’s probably not the same thing you’re seeing.)

Even better, you’ll come away better prepared to reach out to your local media. It’s practically a seminar in marketing, education, and establishing yourself as a local expert. Don’t miss “An Interview with Reporters: What They’ve Learned from the GLP-1 Frenzy” at CCH!

Of course, it’s not just reporters being flooded with pharma’s misrepresentations — regulators and legislators are, too. That’s why the main course at CCH is having citizen-lobbyists (that's YOU) meeting with members of Congress to set the record straight. So if you haven’t registered yet, don’t wait!
