Grab our new Best Practices doc

Our latest best-practices document is a big one: “Best Practices for Dispensing Compounded Therapies.” Yep, it covers all the basics of compounding and — obviously — what APC’s experts consider the best way to, well, practice them. And when we say basics, we mean packaging, labeling, patient education and counseling, as well as some of the nitty-gritty, day-to-day work like logistics, dealing with adverse reactions, and handling recalls.

No, it doesn’t tell you how to do your job. But it does give you and your team an excellent baseline to think about your workflow, your staff training, and your patient (and supplier) relationships. You might find a new way of seeing things, a new way of doing something, or simply a refresher on an existing practice. Case in point: child-proof packaging. It’s not only a best practice, it’s a legal requirement — something worth at least a gentle nudge.

“Best Practices for Dispensing Compounded Therapies” is a 9-page PDF available for free download for all APC members — click here. And check out the rest of our compounding best practices documents at a4pc.org/bestpractices.
