Don’t forget to check out all our 2025 Corporate Patrons. They support you — you should support them! NPR gets it right (again). When a company with a net worth greater than that of many sovereign nations blames little ol’ U.S.-based compounding pharmacies — small independent Main Street businesses, most of them — for that drugmaker behemoth’s downward adjustment in its earnings forecast, well, that’s interesting — newsworthy, even. But when it intentionally misrepresents what law and policy say about the legality of what those compounders are doing, well, that’s lying — and perhaps even falls under the banner of misleading its investors. NPR’s Sydney Lupkin reports here with scrupulous accuracy, and even (added benefit) quotes APC’s CEO. Imported drugs to get more expensive. As Axios reported this week, the U.S. is preparing to impose a 15 percent tariff on branded drugs imported from Europe. Analysts estimate the tariffs could cost the pharmaceutical industry up to $19 billion — which, of course, will trickle down and make those drugs more expensive for Americans. |
