Peptide policy now under White House review
Something is definitely stirring on the peptide front.
A new entry on the federal government’s regulatory review website indicates that FDA has submitted an action titled “Interim Access Policy for Compounding Using Certain Peptides” to the White House Office of Management and Budget for review.
That’s potentially significant, but we don’t yet know what the policy says, which peptides it covers, or what conditions FDA may attach to their compounding. The text has not been made public.
Nor do we know when it will be released. We’ve heard unconfirmed reports that OMB has a backlog of more than 50 HHS actions awaiting review. That could affect the timing.
For now, the important news is that an FDA peptide policy is under review. APC is watching closely and will report more as details become available.
