APC News Feed | Stay Updated on Pharmacy Compounding

Our advocacy road show may be coming your way

Anti-compounding legislation is likely to be floated in more than a dozen states this year and next, and we want you to be ready. We’re holding luncheons (or at least virtual town halls) in as many of those states as possible to prep compounders for the coming fights.

We’ve had four already and we’re scheduling the rest as you read this. If your state is on the list, save the date and keep an eye out for an invitation with the specifics.

  • Tuesday, July 28 — Louisville, Kentucky
  • Wednesday, July 29 — Indianapolis, Indiana (virtual)
  • Thursday, July 30 — Chicago/Rosemont, Illinois
  • Tuesday, August 11 — Mississippi (virtual)
  • Wednesday, August 12 — Birmingham, Alabama
  • Thursday, August 13 — Nashville, Tennessee
  • Tuesday, August 18 — New Haven, Connecticut
  • Wednesday, August 19 — Boston area, Massachusetts
  • Thursday, August 20 — Philly area, Pennsylvania

One thing we’re urging: Invite members of your state legislature’s health committees for a tour of your pharmacy. It’s the best way we know to show ’em how pharmacy compounding really works, the issues you encounter, and (possibly most importantly) all the ways you ensure patient safety.

APC has a great resource for you: a guide to the entire process, from the initial welcome to introducing them to your compounding pharmacy, plus the important parts of the process worth showcasing — and more. It’s free, of course; click here to grab the 6-page PDF, then send out an invite or two. (You don’t have to wait for your luncheon, either.)
