Representative — and compounding champion — Morgan Griffith of Virginia has been named chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s subcommittee on health. E&C chair Brett Guthrie of Kentucky appointed Griffith to the position following the resignation of Buddy Carter, who will be focusing on his Senate campaign.
Guthrie also appointed Rep. Diana Harshbarger of Tennessee — the other pharmacist in Congress — as vice chair. (Carter will continue to serve on the subcommittee, just not as its chair.)
Griffith, in case you didn’t know, has not only been a champion of compounding, he’s a strong supporter of our omnibus compounding bill proposal — he even helped shape its language. He’s a powerful and friendly voice for compounding, and we’re thrilled to see him take over this important role.
