APC submits Blueprint to FDA docket

Written by Andrew | May 23, 2025

HHS put out an official call for ways the agency can reduce its regulation, and APC is there. Our Blueprint for Eliminating Redundant, Unauthorized, or Ineffective Regulation that Impedes Patient Access to Compounded Drugs is exactly what the department is looking for, and we formally submitted it last week.

Our goal with the Blueprint jibes with HHS’s: “to review and reform federal regulations and guidances that are redundant, unauthorized by statute, not grounded in sound science, or that impair patient access without improving public safety,” as we put it.

Bringing the blueprint to the FDA’s attention is important, but so is getting it in the hands of members of Congress who can put their own pressure on the agency. If you haven’t already, download the Blueprint and put it in the hands of your elected officials, especially Republicans in Congress — they’re in a better position today to change policies, and when they hear it from their constituents, it matters.

Write or call them and get a copy into their hands. It can’t hurt to add a short explanation of how poorly considered regulation has affected your practice and your patients — their constituents. You’re not just pointing out an issue, you’re offering an administration-friendly solution.

As of today, nearly 300 copies of the blueprint have been downloaded, and we hope most of those have been shared with legislators and policy makers. If you’re included in that number, thank you. And if you aren’t yet, take a few minutes to do it now.

Together, and today, we can turn this blueprint into real change. Let’s make that happen.
