In case you missed it: Snapshot, best practices, and more

Written by Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding | Mar 12, 2026

If you blinked (or didn’t scroll far enough), you might have missed a few things in the past few editions of Compounding Connections. Here are a handful of recent (and important) APC resources that are worth your time and attention.

Grab the Snapshot while it’s hot

Our latest Snapshot of Pharmacy Compounding in America is out, and it’s packed with quick, shareable data about the profession. Based on responses from hundreds of compounding professionals, it offers a fast look at how compounding pharmacies operate, who they serve, and the scale of the work happening every week.

It’s the kind of resource you can hand to a policymaker, reporter, or curious prescriber when they ask, “So… what does compounding actually look like today?”

Make our best practices part of your SOPs

It’s always a good time to be sure you’re up to snuff when it comes to compounding best practices. Head over to APC’s website and download our seven best-practices documents — including our two newest releases on Best Practices for Vendor Validation and Best Practices for Compounding in IV Therapy. Prepared by compounding experts, our best practices will remind you (or teach you) how best to handle some of the tasks you’ll likely face pretty regularly.

Cheers for the defense

APC’s Compounding Defense Initiative has been hip-deep in state legislative challenges since January. Anti-compounding bills pushed for by drugmakers have been introduced in a dozen states, and while we do our best to keep you updated on what’s happening, things on the state level move rapidly.

Enter our threat response hub on compounding.com — think of it as nerve central for communications on state legislative threats and urgent grassroots calls to action. If you want to know where things stand on the different state bills, head to compounding.com/threatresponse to find the most relevant information.

Credible data is our (too) secret weapon

Here’s one that takes just a few minutes — but could have a big impact.

APC is working with researchers at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University to gather basic dispensing data from compounding pharmacies. The goal? To better understand the compounding landscape and bring stronger data into policy conversations.

The more pharmacies that participate, the stronger the story the data can tell.

Sign up to participate in the dispensing data project.

From fresh data to practical guidance — and even a chance to contribute to research shaping the future of compounding — there’s a lot happening lately. If you missed these announcements the first time around, now’s a good time to catch up.
